2014 Brazil World Cup "E" Group Video Analysis(Penetration pass)

The goalkeeper make various decisions during the game.

Especially, goalkeepers are required to make decisions on penetration 

pass which are connected to the penalty area they are dangerous.

1.The goalkeeper made decision to be in control by the striker,
2. goalkeeper did not make correct set position when shooting.

The decision of these moments makes the goalkeeper's response different and improves the probability of lost goal.

How to defend
1. The goalkeeper sees opponent's movement and make a decision whether he is shooting or control the ball.

2. The goalkeeper will make the position and set position if the striker decides direct shoot.

Training 1
1. The coach stand near the arc with a ball.
2. Strikers stand 10m on both side.
3. The goalkeeper stands in the center of the goal and prepares for a penetration pass.
4. The coach passes on both sides of the pitch to the striker with a ground ball and a high ball.
5. The goalkeeper will decide whether to move forward or wait to see the striker movements.

Training 2

1.The coach stand 30m from the goal with a ball.

2. The strikers stand like a picture.

3. The goalkeeper stands in near goal area.

4. The coach passes to strikers by kick and strikers approach a ball. 

5. The goalkeeper will decide whether to move forward or wait to see the striker movements. 

 

Through the above training, the goalkeeper learn how to prepare to see the opponent's movement and distance.


The goalkeeper have to prepare for the penetration pass with a clear make decision.
